PARENTAL COMMENTS:

Here are some of the things parents have to say about Elmhurst:

"I currently have two children at Elmhurst, my eldest also attended the school. I have always found that they strive to ensure all students reach their full potential. They always go above and beyond. If there has ever been an issue, it has been dealt with swiftly. Cannot speak more highly of SLT. An amazing school."

"I feel that the staff at this school, coupled with the pupils, make this one of the safest places to be... and when you are feeling safe and secure you can only do good."

"Each teacher I have had the pleasure of meeting has been fantastic, with my sons best interests as a priority. I love the interaction I have via class Dojo and the Elmhurst Facebook page, it's always a joy to see photos of my boys at school."

The teachers really get to know our children so that what they teach is understood and at their level. Both my children enjoy their school day completely. My son told me he loved his school this morning!

"I believe that the school gives our child the tools to become a wonderful person. The school allows the children to grow and make mistakes to learn by them. All staff at the school are happy and friendly. I honestly could not praise the school enough."

"The staff are friendly, welcoming and go above and beyond to help the children and offer them fantastic opportunities. You get a real feel of the community from the school, parents and pupils."

What do people have to say about our school?

    Anne McGraw - Beanstalk Volunteer

"Although I loved the freedom that retirement brought, I thought I would consider the possibility of doing some voluntary work. Being very particular in what I commit to, after seeing the Beanstalk Reading Helper advertised in the Western Gazette, under the umbrella of Spark Somerset, I decided to pursue it and find out what exactly it involved.

I discovered it was something that really appealed to me, as the helper visits three children at the same school twice a week for half an hour each. It is a fun session, separate from the school work and is intended to build confidence for whatever reason, and to encourage a love of reading.

How fortunate I was to be placed at Elmhurst Junior School in Street!

Fantastic and hard working staff at all levels have provided a happy and open environment, and it is an absolute credit to all of them.

The school already has an amazing stock of books in their very well run library, and it is a pleasure to see that it is constantly used by the pupils.

One poem from Michael Rosen's A-Z of Children's Poetry is one that really stands out for me personally, as it is especially fitting for children moving on in their education, or in fact for people of any age!

It is called 'Let No One Steal Your Dreams' by Paul Cookson, and at the risk of repetition....I read it to the children at intervals when I feel that they need to hear the words again.

I hope I can help to provide them with an extra boost during their transition to Secondary School, and it has certainly proved to me that I made the right choice in volunteering for Beanstalk."
